Grandparent's Day @ School

The kids had Grandparent's Day at school today. Since Ellie doesn't go on Fridays, we decided just to all go to Noah's room, even though we were invited to attend in Ellie's room as well. It was short notice, so only Nana was able to get out of work to come up. They had ice cream available for everyone {popsicles for the kids!} and then the class sang a few of their songs for the visiting Grandparents.

Noah ate his... and then proceeded to trade Ellie his "juice" for her popsicle.

She didn't seem to mind.

We're glad you were able to come visit us at school, Nana! ♥

It's a Celebration!

The birthday celebrations continued today with Mom's birthday!

Happy Birthday Nana!

Before lunch, we took some time to color a few pictures for Nana.

Noah made certain to sign his drawing... of monsters, spiders, and a web. All of which, he made sure to inform me, that Nana REALLY likes. Buddy, I'm pretty certain that the ONLY monsters, spiders, and webs that she likes are the ones that you've drawn for her!

Since Mom and Daddy-Man were going out for dinner for her birthday, Jessie and Bryan offered to watch Ellie while Noah and I went to Awanas. I came back to find these little gems on my camera's memory card.

Thanks for taking care of the littlest one, Aunt Jessie and Uncle Bryan - I can tell she had fun with ya'll!

Amazingly enough, 8:30PM, after Awanas, was the first time Noah and I had seen Nana all day long - even though we live with her and it was her birthday! We were still asleep when she left for work and when she got home, we were running errands before Awanas and she left for dinner with Papa before we returned to drop off Ellie to Jessie and Bryan.

We were all happy to see each other... and Noah was happy to be in pictures, so we took advantage of that happiness!

{And yes, we totally stopped by Sonic on the way home... at 8:15PM. Noah insisted he was thirsty and Aunt BB needs more votes for her Limeades for Learning project! Please go vote daily!}

Happy Birthday Nana, we love you!

The Day Inbetween

We only *thought* we were done with the 100+ degree weather.

Today = 102.

Thursday's forecasted high = 59.

Oklahoma weather = bi-polar.

Despite the insane heat, Nana and Noah planted some bulbs for the spring. Ellie and I watched, until she got in trouble and she and I went inside.

To celebrate both Ellie and Nana's birthday {tomorrow!}, we ordered a cake from Johnnie's, one of our favorite local bakeries. It's actually the bakery we ordered our wedding cakes {and the sheet cakes for Jessie and Bryan's} from. They have some of the tastiest cakes around that, most importantly, we don't have to make!

The birthday celebrations continue!

I {Heart} Faces | Back to School

This week's contest over at I ♥ Faces is Back to School. I couldn't not enter this one of the kids, snapped just before their first day of "school" at our church's Mother's Day Out program. Two | Ellie

Happy Birthday, Dearest Ellie!

I know it's cliche, but the last two years have just flown by. It seems like it was just yesterday that she was born and we were bringing her home and just a few hours ago that we were celebrating her turning one.

We started her birthday off by opening her present from Ben and I on Skype with him.

Presents and time with Daddy was followed by a special breakfast: white powered doughnuts, with a sprinkle of sassiness!

Lunch = McDonald's + the playground

After naps, we colored and played. And after dinner, Ellie got her big present from Nana and Papa: a motorized four-wheeler!

I suppose it goes without saying that everyone enjoyed themselves tonight.

We forgot that we had cupcakes until after the kids took their baths... but when it's your birthday, you should get to eat cake!

Happy Second Birthday, Dearest Little Eleanor. We love you, more than words will ever be able to express and thank God daily for allowing us the joy and pleasure of being your parents!

{PS Two-year-old photo shoot to happen hopefully soon... I'll do her "2" post with likes then!}

One Last Day of 1

Ellie will be two tomorrow.

We had our one last day of "one" today.

One has been silly. And slightly sassy. One has definitely been beautiful.

One has been full of chasing after and wanting to be just like Bubbie.

One has been fun, Ellie, but I can't wait to see all the amazing and wonderful things that TWO is going to bring.

{photo by Noah, who when I asked Nana to take the photo below of Ellie and I, grabbed the Nikon because he wanted to "take a pish'ure of Mommy and Ellie too". I just ♥ my little photog.}

The Septembers

Today was "The Septembers" birthday party. Grami, Ellie, Mom and Connie all have their birthdays in September, so we typically do a big family party for them. Truthfully, I just didn't feel up to throwing a second party for friends, so we used all the goodies we had bought for that party for the family party.

Nobody seemed to mind.

Being the youngest of the Septembers, she was definitely the attention getter. {Sorry Connie! Looks like Connie-fest has turned into Ellie-fest! ♥ }

Particularly when she loves a certain little Chipette doll as much as a certain Aunt was hoping that she would.

And it didn't hurt that she was also opening up presents that arrived today from her Daddy.

Or maybe it's just the fact that she was so darn cute that she was such an attention getter.

"The Septembers"

Meanwhile, while the adults were opening presents, the Little Ones were definitely having fun. {Don't worry, Noah got down as soon as I said "cake time" "Get down off the chair, Noah.".}

I'm still having a hard time believing she'll be two Monday. It's surreal!

We couldn't help but laugh when she immediately took her baby OUT of the toy pack and play and put herself in it. If only she'd stay as well in her own bed!

Happy Birthday Septembers!

Cupcakes {with my Cupcake}

Ellie is going to be TWO on Monday. I'm still in denial, I think. That she could possibly be that old already and that Daddy is going to miss another second birthday.

We're just having a small family party in honor of the "Septembers" {Grami, Ellie, Mom, and Connie} tomorrow, so while Noah was at school today, my Little Cupcake and I made cupcakes for the party.

Which, translated, means, "Mommy-got-to-do-all-the-work-while-Little-Sister-got-to-drink-a-Sonic-Powerade-drink-all-by-herself-and-didn't-even-have-to-share-it-with-Brother".

She was pretty pleased. With her drink AND her cupcakes.

After school was spent playing outside, chalking it up, and chasing Nana, Papa, and a ball all around the backyard.
