A Night of "Spouse-less" Friends

Tonight two of our friends came over, sans their spouses. It's not an odd thing for us to have one of our friends over when their spouse is out of town or busy, but tonight was the first time that we had two friends over whose spouses were unable to be here as well.
Heidi came over so that she could put together her ring sling and for a gal that says she's never touched a sewing machine before, she did spectacular!
And, obviously, her sling holds up pretty well - we tested it out with Noah.

Greg came over too! Ben is actually about to take him to the airport so that he can meet up with Angie in Ohio, but he had to get in a little Noah-time before he left. I told him I needed a picture so that Angie would be jealous and come home sooner.

Does this tempt you to come home sooner? :)

Happy Hookers and a Happy Hubby

We did so much today and I only have this picture to share:

But, this one picture sums it all up.

Heidi came over today so that we could work on her ring sling (she wasn't able to make it when the other girls came over) and since we didn't have any fabric, we went to lunch and then to JoAnn's. While we were there, we also went to the yarn area - I'm really wanting to make a pair of pink fuzzy bunny slippers from my book. Heidi mentioned she use to know how to crochet, but that she had forgotten, so of course, we had to help her re-learn! We got her a hook and some yarn and headed back to our place. Having never taught {or rather, re-taught} someone how to crochet, it was a little interesting at first, but by the end of the evening, Heidi knew how to work that hook! And surprisingly, I didn't take a single picture while she was there. Crazy, I know.

Then, Noah and I went to LAX to pick up a very happy-to-be-home hubby. I'm glad he was able to spend some time with his family {Hi ya'll! Thanks for the book and outfit!}, but I'm glad to have him home too. And, so now, I'm about to get back to work on a black cap for him while he is finishing getting things ready for his going away party tomorrow at work.

Birthday Girl Revealed!

Today was a pretty busy and full day...
The day actually started with the three of us going to Starbucks and Target and as I'm sitting here typing this out and listening to SNL, it almost seems like a couple of days ago! We finally got rechargeable batteries for the Wii remotes... no more searching for batteries! Afterwards, I picked up Angie and the two of us left the boys behind for a couple of hours to do some shopping in the fabric district (primarily Michale Levine, my new favorite fabric shop) for a couple of projects, including the backing of her quilt. We walked by the Flower District and went in one of the shops... the smell was absolutely delicious!
After we finished shopping, I dropped Angie back off to her house and Ben, Noah and I loaded up in the car to go to the Birthday Girl's party. Happy First Birthday Ella!! I can hardly believe it! She was born just a couple of days before we found out that I was pregnant with Noah. She liked her cake, but she loved the crackers next to it and ate more of the crackers than she did the cake!
It was nice to be able to spend time with some of our small group outside of "small group" time. Heidi and Isabella were enjoying the afternoon at the park with the rest of us!
Noah loved being outside too...
After Gabriella's party, we spent some extra time with Doug and Heidi at their place and while the majority of the evening was spent playing Wii games, Ben had to show Heidi all about the Grocery Game! I love my good lil' shopper - he loves the GG. ;)
