Cookies, Shirts and Cleaning

Cookie Tuesday was in full swing again today. We almost always have chocolate chips on hand {because chocolate chip cookies are Ben's favorite and he does the grocery shopping}, so today was a "Family Favorite" day. Ellie helped a little too... until she threw all of her measuring cups and mini spatula on the floor.

Noah was excited and happy to help pour all of the ingredients in {today he sampled some shortening - which he called icing... and tried to eat twice: UGH! - and vanilla}, but was most excited for the cookies to come OUT of the oven. I wish I could have been on the other side of the oven, just to be able to show you his face, which was lit up with anticipation, and his hands, which were clasped together under his chin in sheer excitement.

So don't let this face fool you... he was totally enjoying his fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies.

Yep. Blissfully enjoying them.

After the kids went to bed, Erin and Jadyn came over to make some shirts for her family. Erin's Dad is returning soon from a deployment with some of the guys from Ben's old squadron. The shirts are for her family to wear at a homecoming celebration party for "Grampy". We used the Yudu.... and let's just say that our kitchen was covered in shirts with Grampy's face.

21 of them, to be exact!

We were about three-fourths of the way through the shirts when I heard Ellie crying and asked Ben to go check on her. All I heard after he went in was, "Mommy. Mommy!" And it wasn't Ellie saying my name.

Poor Little Thing had gotten sick, and since no new food was given to her and she wasn't running a fever, all we can think of it is that it is her teeth. She's had her hands in her mouth all day for the last couple of days, so I imagine that perhaps she had just gagged herself.

Not fun. For her. For Ben, who cleaned up her room and crib. For Erin, who finished up the rest of the shirts herself. Or for me, who washed her bedding for the second time and her for a third time today.
